The Extra Mile - 30th May 2026

Our recent Extra Mile event at Brothers Farm, Wimborne, was a day full of energy, laughter, and challenge. Despite the hot weather, runners stayed cool thanks to water sprinklers that added a refreshing twist to the obstacle course. Everyone arrived with great enthusiasm, ready to take on the fun and exciting challenges. If you missed it, don’t worry, our next event is just around the corner at Hampreston Lodge, Hampreston, Wimborne BH21 7LX on Saturday 27th June.

What Makes The Extra Mile Event Unique

The Extra Mile is not your typical run. It’s a one-mile challenge made up of four laps around an obstacle course designed to test your agility, balance, and determination. The course features a variety of obstacles that keep things interesting and fun:

  • Tyre Run: Step quickly through a series of tyres laid out on the ground to test your speed and coordination.

  • Balance Beams: Walk carefully across narrow beams to challenge your balance.

  • Cargo Net Crawl: Crawl under a cargo net, engaging your upper body strength and flexibility.

  • Water Gun Sprays: Get a surprise splash from water guns that help cool you down while adding a playful element.

Participants can choose to skip any obstacle if they prefer, making the event accessible to all fitness levels and ages. The focus is on enjoyment and participation rather than competition.

Our next event at Hampreston Lodge promises even more fun and excitement.

  • Family Friendly: The course welcomes everyone, no matter your age or ability. It’s a perfect way to spend quality time with family and friends.

  • Inclusive for All Abilities: Whether you’re an experienced runner or just looking for a fun day out, the course adapts to your comfort level.

  • Refreshments Available: While you wait for your turn or cheer on others, enjoy a selection of refreshments in a relaxed setting.

  • Spectator Friendly: Not running? No problem. Bring your friends and family to watch and support the participants.

The grounds at Hampreston Lodge offers a beautiful outdoor space with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the day.

Tips to Prepare for The Extra Mile

  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose clothes that allow free movement and can get wet or dirty.

  • Bring a Water Bottle: Stay hydrated, especially if the weather is warm.

  • Use Suitable Footwear: Trainers with good grip will help you navigate the obstacles safely.

  • Arrive Early: This gives you time to warm up and get familiar with the course.

  • Bring Supporters: Having friends or family cheering you on makes the event more enjoyable.
